I don't think he has enough name recognition. I think Paxton will have a better
chance. So many voters will not do any homework and go by name recognition. Sadly.
No worries - I've been CCing Ken on tweets about how he should run for Senate to get rid of Cornyn for over a year (as have a lot of other people). I was psyched when he finally announced. Can't stand Cornyn.
I would've pushed for Paxton for Governor but he wouldn't be as effective there without massive changes in the legislature - to include getting rid of the Lt Gov Dan Patrick. The legislature (all dems/RINOs/Bushies) hate him and actually kicked him off the floor recently. No way those a-holes would push his agenda.
If Paxton was considering running for Gov I bet that's why he did not. Texas politics sucks at this time. We gotta get rid of the Bush influence. The Texas state "Republican" politicians are RINO to Far Right Dem in practice.

I like what this guy is saying and all, but it sounds like he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
As a Green Beret I’m sure there’s a good chance he’s a good guy, but we should be wary of anybody saying things that we want to hear without being able to back it up.
Willingness matters greatly, but so does capability.
Knew a lawyer who had a part time practice in an ultra small county (he did not live there and was mainly doing it because there were zero private practices there).
The sheriff was elected because he was a war hero(and he may have run unopposed anyway)
By all accounts, he was a good guy, but had no idea how the law operated. Apparently the sheriff later was charge by the state because he committed a serious crime in his duties, apparently out of ignorance rather than malice or corruption
I was curious so I looked it up. Gregg Abbott has been governor of Texas since 2015. Grok says ... Greg Abbott’s current term as Governor of Texas ends on January 19, 2027. Texas has no term limits for governors, so he can run for re-election in 2026. He has already announced his candidacy for a fourth term. If successful, he would serve until January 2031, becoming Texas’ longest-serving governor, surpassing Rick Perry’s 14 years.
I am tired of Abbott as he is a follower and not a leader. But I need to look into this guy first before I jump on board.
I'm cautious as I want to know if he's MAGA or just another "looks good on paper" like eyepatch did.
We supported Lt. Col. Allen West last time

TY...love him!
Thanks J1D! Did you know Pete is one of the organizers of that Texas Border Convoy from Jan 2024?
This guy will have a real chance at taking down Abbott.

But I'd really like to primary Cornyn in 2026
Huh? Paxton is running to primary Cornyn as Senator. He is not running for Governor.
You're right. I got confused. But I seem to remember Paxton talking about running for governor awhile back. Or I dreamed it. LOL
Thanks for the correction

You are so right!
Uh oh - I thought Ken Paxton would be a great choice for Tx governor.
He absolutely would be BMJ or to *REPLACE CORNYN! 🤬

For everyone that keeps saying Ken Paxton for Governor - he is running for the Senate to primary John "the RINO" Cornyn. Not Governor.

Thanks Scotty!
I don't think it will be that simple unfortunately.
Can anyone find the Texas statute making crimes against humanity a felony? Because I can't.
Thank you for asking.

Hmmm, Governor or Teddy's replacement? Tough call...

"so he (Abbot) can run"
♿👨🦽 Sorry, Abbot cannot run😉
It would be better if he was elected first...
I know who to vote for now!
