I don't doubt it will be valuable, but I question it continuing to go up, and I would think all those big buyers of a couple years ago, who bought when it was significantly lower, would see the opportunity to make a huge profit, and then move it into the market where the upward potential seem much higher than gold, unless some global catastrophe happens.
I put all my retirement money into 4 mutual funds several months ago. I haven't looked at them since that time and had planned to look in July (I didn't know this bill was going to come into play, so it will be interesting to see what the funds have done when I check this week)

Gold is generally for retention of value not necessarily fornthe expectation big returns.
If growth is what the investment is for, invest in good mid cap growth companies, maybe manufacturing.
