I am disappointed in Ratcliffe, it raises my suspicions when the DS isn't gnashing their teeth over policies implemented by their "new Director". What have we heard about the CIA under Ratcliffe? I don’t disagree with that, but Ratcliffe has been a staunch supporter of Trump since the very beginning - one of the few that was vocal about the Russian collusion being a hoax. My take is that he is laughing at an inside joke, I never did hear a number on the defensive weapons that are being sent to Ukraine, how many weapons or dollars for that matter
I don't think he's laughing - My take is that Trump left it at the last private meeting with them (Ratcliffe, Hegseth and others) that he would look at options and let them know his decision, and that they're learning the decision 'live' with the rest of the group. I thought Ratcliffe's look was one of disbelief. He clearly didn't know the answer when he heard it. Hegseth might have known already, I can't tell.
When I voted for President Trump, I hired him to do the job. I am not always in sync with why he does what he does, and I don't always agree with his appointments, however I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until I don't. I assume he is better informed than the rest of us. But, he has admitted to mistakes with his appointments in his first administration. I am not a fan of giving Ukraine any more money or weapons, and personally I can't stand Zelensky. I also believe we should ALL speak up whether for or against our President, his appointees and all/any Government agencies as free speech is our God given right. Without debate and information we are Sheep.
i think this is all about squeezing Russia over something, not helping Ukraine. Putin not capitulating on something yet, probably how much Ukr land he wants to keep as Russian.

If Trump knows Putin is not going to stop until he achieves whatever objective he has (liberating Russians, Odessa, Donbas, Crimea?) then why wouldn't Trump send defensive weapons to keep people safe while that process works itself out?
NOTE - this may be why some people have said (including Trump himself) that Trump is not happy with Putin right now.
I'm thinking Patriot Missiles and the like. I'd bet Trump wants them placed around populated areas to keep the innocents safe from stray (or targeted) missiles.
