I would not doubt that CBS is firing Colbert and ending a 70-year-old TV staple, the Tonight Show, is based on foreknowledge of Colbert' having pending indictments, and they are distancing their network and the show from him as rapidly as contractually able.
The Tonight Show is NBC that began with Steve Allen then ran through Carson and Leno to that little soyboy Jimmy faggot they got on now.
CBS is Late Night which began with Letterman in 1993.
