we cant have our cake and eat it too. "We want to stop all election fraud, illegal immigration, social security fraud etc etc". But at the same time "we dont want a proper ID system."
We seem to have a fundamental disagreement at some level. I'm not sure I can talk you into seeing the gravity of this situation. But if you think this is the only way to stop those problems, which were created precisely by the government to then turn around and remove our freedoms, you've drank some of that good ol' 2004 Patriot Act koolaid.
If there is a specific aspect of Project 2025 you are worried about, I would love to discuss more.
ctrl+F 'Sunday' in the Project2025 document.
Let's discuss Sunday Laws. Over half the states already have them on their books, just waiting for a push to go ahead and implement them. The Vatican keeps pushing for a "global day of rest" where the world shuts down one day per week to "stop climate change".
I can tenatively agree with your other points. But I want those protections asap on the AI front. And to be clear; the protections would NOT be regulations placed on US. They would be placed on THE GOVERNMENT. Let's be very clear what our rights actually are. They are restrictions on the government.
Gulp gulp, what's that sound? glade gulping down everything regardless of whether it's good or bad just because it's Trump 2.0
I can MAGA and ree at the same time kid.
This movement is not about us being the cult of Trump and just accepting everything that comes down the pipe. We are supposed to engage with it. To steer it. I wish Q would come back and make a post just for people like you. It would go something like:
I don't think they're a troll, just a bit too attached to Trump & Co. Like, unhealthy attachment. I guess it could be a troll but iirc I've interacted with glade before and seems like normal fren, maybe a bit zealous kek
Ah, I agree with this completely. Its got nothing to do with regulating AI (which means government regulating what we can do or not do with AI) but rather regulating government (including AI but also all other things they are not allowed to do).
Now think back to the gun analogy. As soon as guns were invented, did the first thing we do was to decide what the government is not allowed to do with guns? No, that would be absurd. Infact government does a million things with guns, but what they are not allowed to do derives not from regulating guns, but regulating what government does - which is the constitution.
As long as government does not use AI in anyway violating the constitution, I am okay with that. I definitely want the government to use AI as a tool to the maximum extent to defeat the enemy.
But if you think this is the only way to stop those problems, which were created precisely by the government to then turn around and remove our freedoms, you've drank some of that good ol' 2004 Patriot Act koolaid.
I have been hearing a lot of fear porn about Real ID and I assumed it was like a national database of all our info stored along with our ID. What I learnt was that its nothing but a tamper proof, standardised ID document. The only requirement for the ID is:
Applicants must provide proof of identity, Social Security number, lawful status, and residency, verified against federal and state databases.
That is literally what we want for election integrity.
I would be happy if you point me to anything that shows me that Real ID goes beyond this - as in being a proper ID
Let's discuss Sunday Laws. Over half the states already have them on their books, just waiting for a push to go ahead and implement them.
I have never heard Trump or anyone else even hint at this. If they are on the books of the States thats up to the people of each state to decide whether they want it or not. There is no evidence that it will be federally mandated because project 2025 folks have infiltrated Trump.
Project 2025 is a document made up of bunch of people, each expert in their own area, providing their input to the President. It contains such things as fixing OMB by Russ Vought, or limiting the Fed by Paul Winfree, or implementing Tariffs by none other than Peter Navarro, just to give some examples.
So being afraid of something thats in this document, which is extremely extensive and exhaustive, that Trump has not mentioned he is even considering, is probably not very productive.
Instead, focus on specific policies Trump has actually adpoted from this project 2025 that you dont like and lets scream about that!
As for AI what I am asking for is that the government be given strict and rigid legal codes so that it ensures the AI cannot spy on us in any way, cannot collect and store data on us, or in any way build profiles on us, censor us, influence our info gathering or bias it away from absolute truth, or be used in any other way that violates the Constitution. I'm sick of getting screwed over in the beginning only to come back years later and be like "oh the government has been screwing me over with this and that, maybe we should restrain them"
The Sunday Laws is in the Project2025 document and I do not want whoever proposed them anywhere near the government! If they move forward on it it will be too late which is why it's on my list of things to speak out about. Those states would all move forward in lock-step, and then we're well on our way to having the government dictate our faith to us.
Everyone is already cheering the wins, rightfully so. But there are still bad potentials to address. We can't wait to speak until they already occur! I'm just one of those who has to say it I guess
Dude, "AI cannot spy on us" makes no sense. AI is not a sentient being no matter how many movies you have watched. AI is literally a software program you feed data and it gives you the output - whatever analysis you need done.
If the government has access to data it can be fed through any software, whether you call it AI or not. And no it doesnt spy on you.
I do want AI to process data from the electoral roll and the immigration records and the social security database and birth and death records, for instance, to find fraud. No person is going to sit there and hunt through the data to find billions of records.
What I meant was, I don't want to live under a giant dragnet empowered by AI to create and store highly accurate profiles on me. I should be a ghost as far as the government is concerned. THEY'RE the ones with no right to privacy. THEY should all be monitored and profiled 24/7. Not us.
That campaign is all fear mongering. Everything they say 'real is can totally do this in the future' isn't exclusive to real id and can apply to regular state driver's licenses. An industry association wants to use it for more things? Color me shocked.
Each real id is state managed, just like a driver's license is. If you move to a new state and get a real id in the new state, the new state forces you to provide all the same identity documents that are required to get it in the previous state. Why? Because there is no cross-state or national database of the documents provided. The only thing mandated is that to be called a real ID, it has to have the 5 things on file at the state for each license.
The reason that Trump is pushing it is because the regular driver's licenses are given out to everyone based on no information. You have a Chihuahua id card? Great, here's a California state driver's license. Have fun on our roads, Juan Lopez of 1234 Fake Street, Escondido CA - a totally legitimate person. Honest.

Oh wait, Q already posted that numerous times.
MAGAREEE sounds like a parish in Louisiana that serves some crazy poached frog étouffée.
Panicans, Magaree, so many names!
I'll happily wear the MAGAReee hat kek. I mean what am I supposed to do, I see potential problems coming down the line, I say something 🤷
'Praps you might take a moment to .... not feed the trolls.
Calling someone with reasoned, informed opinions a doomer is, frankly, a troll play.
Carry on.

These fine folks have put together an entire campaign about Real ID https://www.cchfreedom.org/national-id/

Why couldn't they just pass a federal law that outlined the required documents to get a state ID / DL? I hope you're right though
I really really want to be wrong
