Probably a loss of water? The Okefenokee Swamp burned in GA for a while. Lightning? I think that this stuff just happens cyclically. But I am not above being suspicious at many things these days.

An attempt to force them off their land so the fed govt can come in and confiscate it in order to expand the detention site. Or, force them to move further away from the site so they won't be a "nuisance" to the fed govt at the detention site. The Tribe are one of the biggest opponents to the site, working alongside various conservation groups suing to have the detention center shut down and moved out of the Glades. (Which, btw, I am in agreement with and support their efforts to shut that place down and have it moved to any number of bldgs that are of suitable size that could easily be renovated.)
