Here's an idea: allow us Vets to cash in 100% of our GI Bill benefits so we can purchase a home instead of wasting it on over priced universities. Most of us leave the service with enough hard and soft skills to not worry about needing extra formal tech school or university education/training, and a lot of us end up getting out of the military with either an associate's or bachelor's degree thru the military's tuition assistance program anyway, even after only a 4 yr enlistment. So nowadays, there isn't a need for the GI Bill like there was in past decades. A lot of employers now offer tuition assistance for higher level degrees, and we also have the ability to use the VR&E program fo extra education, too.
So in my view, we could better use the GI Bill for purchasing a home, business start-up, etc rather than education. Especially since a lot of us end up going into business for ourselves anyway because we don't necessarily get along too well with the lazy, whiny, and entitlement driven civilian workforce population this society seems to breed nowadays.
This is a great idea!
Even better idea - we should give vets both (grants for buying a home and tuition assistance)
VA Home Loan Program Reform Act
The VA Home Loan Program Reform Act (H.R. 1815) is a recently passed bipartisan law aimed at strengthening and modernizing the VA Home Loan program. It was passed by both the House and the Senate and is awaiting President Trump's signature to become law.
Here's a breakdown of the key provisions and impact of the Act: Addressing foreclosure risk Establishes a Partial Claims Program: This is a crucial component, allowing the VA to purchase a portion of the veteran's outstanding mortgage debt (a partial claim) to help avoid foreclosure. Fiscal Responsibility: This program aims to be more fiscally responsible than the previous VASP (Veterans Affairs Servicing Purchase) program, which some critics considered unsustainable and was implemented without consulting Congress, according to Representative Derrick Van Orden. Supporting homeownership Leveling the Playing Field for Veterans: The Act makes a previously temporary policy permanent, allowing veterans to directly compensate their real estate agents. Enhancing Home Loan Process: This aims to help veterans compete more effectively in the housing market, especially in competitive scenarios where seller-paid commissions or buyer-agent compensation has been a factor. Additional benefits Homeless Veterans Support: The Act includes provisions for increased funding to assist homeless veterans in transitioning into stable housing. Aligning with Other Federal Agencies: The partial claims program brings the VA in line with other federal agencies, such as the FHA (Federal Housing Administration), that offer similar options to help homeowners avoid foreclosure. In essence, the VA Home Loan Program Reform Act aims to modernize the VA Home Loan program, provide greater flexibility for veterans facing financial hardship, and address challenges in the current housing market to better support veterans in achieving and maintaining homeownership.
Of course fren!
Thank you for the update!!
Also in the EO is VA choice and VA accountability. These were things in place because of president Trump. When Biden was "selected" he overturned them. I was certain he would not be evil enough to do that, but he did. Thank God Trump is back.
Amen! 🙌

Thanks fren! 👏
Thanks mod frens! 🫡
My dad was a WWII Navy Veteran, who served in the Pacific Theatre. He bought our first house for eight thousand dollars, and was amazed that he could do it without a big down payment. The VA also paid for him to finish his education. Veterans today deserve to do the same.
This is very helpful to veterans. Too bad I used my allowance up in the 80's, buying my wife and my first home. It was very helpful back then and we were facing double digit interest rates in the high teens-up to 20% ( and people think they have it tough today). We had to re-finance several times during the mortgage to get a lower interest rate, or we could have paid it off-but we didn't have the money at that time. The president was until 1981, Jimmy Carter. I never thought we would be able to afford a home, but we did. Reagan fixed the mess up, it take a while though.
What do you mean you used it up? If you paid off the loan, you can use the benefit again.
Apparently years ago the VA had a limit. I remember reading about it at the time. I will research it on the internet now.
The only limit was on the amount you could borrow that they would guarantee. If you paid off your loan (by selling it and/or paying off the loan, you could immediately buy another house (with certain restrictions).
Good to know, thanks.
Well years ago it did have limits and I used mine. Now this bill doesn't, I didn't know that, but I have been in my home for 23 years and didn't need the VA to move in at the time. If I buy another house I will use it then. Thanks fren.
I'm sorry that you had to endure their evil. Thank God for Reagan & PDJT!
Absolutely, but of course, Trump is doing much, much more!
This is ridiculous - the video quality is absurdly low, surely this is some deliberate tactic. https://files.catbox.moe/vzdcp8.JPG
