Voat was dark and dirty, and an interesting evolution from GreatAwakening #1 (r/GreatAwakening) perfect for GreatAwakening Forum #2. But, I'm both amazed and highly appreciative that GreatAwakening Forum #3 (GAW) has stood the test of time.
Nothing beat the reddit sub, 70,000 users from all over the place. It was so interesting hearing how things were in their own corner of the globe! Saddest day was when it was banned!
Not sure what you mean by 'Great Awakening Forum #2'. The actual named subs, great and/or awakening, on voat were ok, but voat's QRV was like the wild west of Q boards, I loved it!
In light of how voat was, I'm really surprised the Poal boards fizzled out/got disabled.
And like you, I'm glad our rag-tag group soldiers on here at GAW!
I recall there being three (significant) active boards at voat. There was an already existing v/GreatAwakening and one other, but yeah, QRV as the one that got nominated by Q, and was created by (iirc) the mods from r/GreatAwakening.
I didn't like it that much. It was certainly the wild west, and quite anonymous. I preferred v/GreatAwakening and the other one, where discourse was a bit more civil. But altogether, they carried the online forum movement forward. I guess I'd classify all three of those voats together as 'Great Awakening Forum #2'.
That was back in the srayzie, shizzy, crensch days. There was also v/theawakening.
I liked the anonymity of QRV, I said things there I would never say under my username. Despite no usernames, I was even able to call out PDW's troll, Anaconda, a few times!

Anyone here into photography and have an app they recommend for getting more control on an iPhone camera? I like to take nature photography, and the phone zoom is great compared to dropping money on dslr specialty lenses, but I will often have a “noisy” scene and my camera just won’t focus on what I want no matter what I try. So frustrating for the subject to cooperate and stay still yet end up with a blurry image due to equipment.

I asked AI to compare apps since the app I use “NightCap” is one for night photography, but it is not good for nature / daytime.
AI compared ProCamera, Halide, and camera+ 2
Halide is rated excellent for focus but has no added zoom stabilization. Also has “macro tools” like getting details of a flower for example.
ProCamera is rated “very good” for focus and best of the 3 for zoom + anti-shake, and easier to use. ____ Halide is more complex.
I don’t have a Pro model, and so I use a 10-year old budget Fuji mirrorless camera. The zoom lens I like is expensive, so looking for the best app is understandable.
Camera+ 2 came in 3rd.
Ty for the leads! Not a pro user myself, either. I am going to try a macro lens that attaches to phone lens and see if that’ll help at all while I research apps. Not excited for subscriptions.

So the inexpensive macro lens I got for my phone gets great pics but I dunno what I was thinking, thinking it would help with zoom. Now I have to be within inches of the subject to focus at all. But great photos when I get there!

thanks for your macro lens test report, I missed that too, I should have done an AI Q&A, only a few lenses do both macro and zoom. Macro I would like to try out next spring, wildflowers in the park. Nice you get good macro pics. GAW won’t let me view the jpeg today, I’ll look back again later
