He’s literally describing one of ny sons whose is high functioning autistic. The boy asks questions no one asks. He sees things no one’s paying attention to. Everything he decides to be good at, he’s amazing at! He’s unstoppable. Dedication to his interest are insane. Has been recognized by his school and groups he’s associated with for his work ethics. That boy could be anything “he wants” to be. Not what the world wants him to be good at. I told the wife if the military ever gets ahold of him, as in he joins, you’ll probably never see him again. If he likes what he’s doing they’ll have him in special ops, drone stuff,…ain’t no telling. You find a way to make it interesting to him, and just let him go. Which is his downside imo. Trusting. Doesn’t even know how to lie. Totally sucks at it. But he trusting. A trusting fool some would say. That’s where our worry has always been for him. But he’s doing good right now. Making his way.
You just described to me as a child to a T. In honor of your story I will tell you a story about myself as a child. My parents were trying to expand their horizons socially in the church. We ended up inviting over pretty much one of the most difficult to impress couples in the church. They ran a few committees, she taught Sunday school for the youngest kids, they reviewed us the most upstanding and perfect couple in the church. Perfect kids, always dressed perfectly with little bows in their hairs, perfect little Sunday dresses, everything. So they were over after church at my parents house and I was ask by my mother to stay out of the way. There we were, after church dinner, and they were telling some beautiful tale about how their whirlwind romance and entry into family life happened. He spotted her at a church dinner shortly after Independence Dayand went over to her and introduced himself and held her hand. They had their first date. Their first kiss. Then they got married in January and little Rebecca came along in March.
And from behind the couches, there's little mean, and I said, "from July to March is only 8 months"
They politely excuse themselves, remember that they had somewhere to be, they left my parents' house, and we were never invited to any church functions by them again
Atta boy c5....
"Out of the mouths of babes" lol
LoL, exactly. Pure honesty. Thank you for your story. 😁
I may be undiagnosed high-functioning as well. I'm pretty sure I'm undiagnosed Tourette's. Being socially awkward and reclusive gives you more time to think. To pay attention to what others do not see. Pattern recognition. Thank God I'm not a normie.
God bless you and your family, sir!
My wife works with moderate and severe autistic children and she found this VERY interesting. She obviously can't implement these methods without the parent's permission, but it should be useful to you.
