I'm perfectly capable of not starting a fire while spending all day at my fishing spot. In fact, I'm very likely to douse any smoldering camp fires I come across. Most of us who use the outdoors are the responsible ones.
Sounds to me like the Canadian government doesn't want to get caught starting "global warming" err forest fires so they can continue selling their green energy money grab.
Laws like this are like gun restrictions.
