According to the general they weren't aware of the DUI. What I want to know is how you can be on AD, get a DUI and arrested and booked into jail, and your command not know about it? I'm Pretty sure it's still standard protocol for the local PD, SD or HP to contact the base when an active member is arrested. Somebody, either in local law enforcement or in the perp's chain of command, didn't do their job.
Depending on your job, a DUI can seriously fuck your career. Job requiring a security clearance? Goodbye. Aviation? Turn in your wings, you'll never fly again.
