I believe this. My son's buddies who studied comp sci in college are struggling to find work. Seems off. AI isn't good enough to take engineering roles at this point. I have to tell it that it generated shit code and to generate again all the time. Husband's company keeps laying off the old white tech guys and moving those roles to India and Brazil. There needs to be consequences for this crap.
The truth is that "IT" is mostly bullshit. The part that is actually useful is a very small part of the economy. The real economy is food and housing.

Not only do H1B visas deprive U.S. workers of jobs, but so does outsourcing.. Two well known California companies a little while back cut the majority of the IT jobs and outsourced it to India-one was a Big Pharma and the other an entertainment agency. Many companies out source and you can barely understand the workers speaking English, and they can barely understand us!
Yes outsourcing has been way too much.
On top of the language barrier, the quality of the service work and goods also go in the shitter.

There should be a federal level job board where the positions are posted for a month before aliens can apply. Private job boards ( Indeed, linked in, etc) would work, but there needs to be some accountability and documentation to verify the companies made a good faith effort.

So corp. oligarchs pay the immigrants a low salary, the taxpayers pay the immigrant’s social benefits (EBT, snap, housing) and the fake savings money is skimmed & laundered. American citizens lose their jobs, lose housing, don’t get benefits, become demoralized & take fentanyl & die. Kids end up sex trafficked.
