Based on Trump's many comments about Venezuela's dirty oil (heavy crude) that it's "like tar" and can only be refined in Houston, it doesn't even make sense that anyone would be in hot pursuit of Venezuela's shitty oil, IMO.
Essequibo region of Guyana is having an oil boom. Venezuela claims that area as theirs because a dispute over border. Any action taken by U.S. would be to protect Guyana, thereby denying Venezuela from becoming a bigger player on global oil market.
