This has been happening all week at college campuses
🧐 Research Wanted 🤔
My daughter’s school, University of Georgia, had a report yesterday of an active shooter at the library. It turned out to be a hoax. She began looking into it and discovered 12 other incidents just in this past week at colleges in “Red” areas, and they were all reported to be at the library. Is someone testing how long it takes police to respond, to see which campus would be the most vulnerable target?
She made this video about it last night: https://x.com/949cyclist/status/1961630260874616859
Might be the quantity of incidents is a Red Herring meant to send analysts both Law Enforcement and Civilian off down the wrong path.
And distract from potentially the real target. With the calls giving them a datapoint in measuring local PD response in the real target location. How many units it draws in and how long it takes them to clear a scene.
Giving them an approximate window to carry out their real goal before local Police show up to frustrate whatever objective they have.
Alternatively. Perhaps the mission has been carried out already. And the quantity of incidents is still a distraction. Several Police Departments have reported Uniforms and Decals for Squad Cars stolen the past couple years. In the event of a suspected Mass Shooting. No one is likely going to blink twice if there’s a few extra cruisers and it’s not readily apparent which agency they’re from, as long as it says Police and looks appropriately convincing I doubt most will look for the sigil of the city or agency they’re attached to, nor question why those Officers searching a Building.
Several of the Campuses were known for research Departments. Perhaps some Research has walked off?
If some identifying as police knock on your door, do not open it until you have identified via dispatch, or some other method that it's actually the police.
But you a smart cookie so I don't have to tell you this. Thing is, make sure everyone in the house knows this.
Don’t answer at all! (Unless they have a valid warrant and you’ve read it before letting them in. And be sure you’re 💯 aware of what they specifically are allied to for.)
If theyre looking for that much information prior to an attack then a different animal than a random active shooter is in play. Most active shooters are there to cause damage and die. No intel needed for that really.
My guess is its just to cause fear.
That was precisely My point. It’s not real. The false reports are being used as a distraction and to sew confusion. Make a bunch of false reports at a dozen places. Get analysts chasing false leads.
Draw the attention of Local Law Enforcement and Campus Security. While whoever is behind it undertakes the real objective.
Some of the Colleges that got reports are known for their research departments and take Government contracts after all. Who’s to say some research didn’t walkoff from one of the campuses in the confusion? University of South Carolina has worked with Faucis Office before. As one example of research that maybe tempting.
That’s assuming the objective isn’t off campus. And the objective of the false reports is to get Law Enforcement focused on one side of town while they do something on the other side.
With the excess reports at the other colleges meant to just cause confusion. And get people looking elsewhere.
