Remove your kids from the schools, or at the very least keep them home during the days those lessons are planned. And if the schools decide to spring these lessons on the kids unannounced, then tell your kids to flood the administration offices so they can call their parents to come pick them up. Once the schools see the parents and kids aren't playing around on this subject, they will change their tune.
I can tell you right now, if I were a kid in school I wouldn't get up and walk out. You feel obvious and draw attention to yourself. unless there's a bold kid who stands up first, I would have just sat there and stressed. That's a lot to put on your kid just so you can have your stuff so you send your kid to the government to raise!!
If you suspect the school might drop this on you all unannounced, you need to then have a meeting with a bunch of parents and kids together and get them all to do it at once, if it is dropped on them. Promise that if they all do it together, you parents will back them up, even if all of you have to come to school and get them, and they will be rewarded for their stand.
True story follows:
When I was in high school, we had a teacher who rearranged the classroom what seemed like almost every week. One day , the whole class (because I was slower, and did not think it was right, I did not participate) decided to turn their desks 90 degrees every 15 minutes. It drove her to tears and she quit.
