Based on reports from CNN, BBC, NYPost, and other outlets, Iryna Zarutska, 23, was stabbed to death on a Charlotte light rail on Aug 22, 2025. Video shows the attack, and suspect DeCarlos Brown Jr. was arrested. No credible evidence supports claims it's fake or involves actors.
First off, it’s two different people wearing two different hoodies, one is red, one is orange. The individual in red has narrower shoulders and is significantly thinner than the second. Additionally, the person in red has long fingernails that appear white-tipped when the light hits them, unlike the crisis actor in orange. The guy in the orange hoodie is beefy, and takes off his hoodie to reveal a belly shirt for some unknown reason. Both crisis actors used a blood squib device in their right hands to leave a "blood" trail.
The other players just sit there calmly, not reacting to anything in the scene.
The Gofundme grift was launched on August 22, 2025, the same day as the fake stabbing. The account did not receive much attention, and only raised 25k by August 27th. After they released the video footage the account jumped to 42k, and the shekels are now rolling in. As of 9/7, the GoFundMe for Iryna Zarutska is at 66k and the goal was raised to $80,000.
It is interesting that the obituary says she emigrated to escape the war just a few months after she turned 20, but that she graduated from a college in Ukraine with a degree... But not a degree in the field she dreamed of working in! So before she turned 20 she was able to get a degree, but got one in a field (arts) different from her desired career (vet tech)?! Ok.
Without knowing more, it could be some 2 year community college degree, so she could start going to her dream college with all her generals finished, as real college costs way more than community.
