I mean... sadly that is the logical conclusion of the left's rhetoric.
It used to be "sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me" now it's "words are violence." This result is not a distant extrapolation of this mindset.
He should be allowed to say this only if he would also immediately say it after some leftist got murdered and he called the leftist a divisive figure with hateful thoughts and words. Otherwise not only is he denigrating a death but he’s proving himself to be the very thing he criticizes.
