Not really, he's been sent to that psych place for a mental evaluation. That almost always happens in cases like this as a pre-trial move, to establish if the defendant has the mental capacity to stand trial. I think the legal term is mens rea:
noun: mens rea
The intention or knowledge of wrongdoing that constitutes part of a crime, as opposed to the action or conduct of the accused.
I'd be very curious to know if or how many times this individual has been through such a process previously in his criminal career. (I remember hearing his own mother saying he should be taken away from society) I'm familiar with other cases where the defendant was found to be non compos mentis, so therefore couldn't stand trial, and was simply released to the costumed characters in SocialWorkerLand, with a promise that while he's still among us, he'll take his meds and be a good boy. Would that make you feel safer? Because I don't feel safer.
I think we'll start to be on a better track when we find a solid way to actually do something to keep us away from those who commit violence without understanding. "Pitying them for their demons" is not enough.
The judge owns the mental health facility, and I am sure the government pays for the treatment. Probably for a set length of time, at which point he are kicked out.
"Brown butchered Iryna precisely so he could score that outcome, so he could trade the streets for a padded cell. And the system is bending over backwards to give him exactly what he asked for."

Came here to say the same. It’s all grift to them because there are no consequences.
I thought the brought up federal charges . Go get him.

Psychiatric wards exist!??
I don't believe he'll ever see the light of freedom again. He's been charged federally and PDJT has called for the death penalty.
Is the judge a Barry appointee? It would not surprise me.
he'd be happier in prison...the nuthatches are as misterable as they ever were when we called them "asylums"
Bet the feds arrest him as soon as he an leave.
