With all of this I do wonder what would have happened to the democrat politician that raised their hand and said "yes, actually we do need the help, national guard would be great, and thank you!"?
Would republicans have pilloried them? Shamed them for needing help in the first place? Or enjoyed a brief moment of cross aisle cooperation?
We'll never know though with how insane all these people are.
I certainly hope you will be incorrect but I think you are more on track than most trains. We will all see soon (I hope) and if they are all charged, tried, and once found guilty-give them the full extent of the punishment allowable by law. That is my wish and hope. I can't help feeling like you do though.
