I’m seeing all kinds of threats on x from people who are are not going to get their snap benefits. I’m avoiding grocery stores at the start of November.

We have started shopping at Grocery Outlet. And have found some amazing deals. Stocked up for a long time. Chicken at .79 and .99 a pound. Grass fed steak @ 7.99 a piece. If you have one in your area check out the deals. My freezer and cupboards are overflowing. Blessings to all of you as we go through these trying times.
I love Grocery Outlet. You are right, they have some great deals. The only problem is that when you see something, you need to buy it right then because there is no guarantee that item will be there when you return. They move a lot of inventory and it constantly changes.
That is true. Buy all you can when it is available, but part of the fun is finding new foods to try. Just purchased Italian pink salt with truffle bits, have never in my life had truffle, we'll see if I like it.
I order my groceries online at HEB and they deliver my order to my door for $6.95. I'd pay twice that to avoid all of the hassle and it actually saves me money because I can't buy the stuff that I walk by on the way to what I need.
Sage advice. The amount of needless crap I impulse buy is crazy.
Basic prepping to cover a few weeks or month is always a good idea.
I would also keep some folding cash around as well.
And silver,if you can do it....l
It might be sensible for the grocery stores to close for a few days.
That would cause a back log of shoppers that would guarantee they cant catch up.
Good luck in free carry states.
Im going to the local publix parking lot and will protect vulnerable shoppers from SNAP feinds.
Great idea, thanks for that. My head has been elsewhere, definitely wasn't planning ahead like I should have been.
A wise decision.
