I asked the person listed as head of the Conservative Party of the county in NY I live in (both in an email an through an online form on their website) the following question:

My wife just voted. Several candidates were listed for both the Democratic and Conservative parties. How is that possible? (she voted for Republicans)

Their answers (question asked via an online form and through email):

how is it possible?easy the conservative party is complicit,it's been going on for a long time they know it and do NOTHING, they will lose their brand and disappear . it will be a good thing so they don't legitimize the democrats

And:

Hi ______, Thanx for the e mail.
this says it all.. We do all we can to get it out there.
_______ (County) and _____ (County) DO NOT endorse any dems.
    are you registered Conservative?
    thanx again

So I followed up with an email with this question:

I don't understand. You are chairman of the _________ County Conservative Party, yet your own flyer is endorsing people who you are telling me are Democrats. What is going on?

His answer:

________, like many politicians has been in office TOO LONG,we need someone who will take action

My final email to to him:

Your replies to my emails suggests that the "_______ County Conservative Party" is a completely bogus organization, existing to fool people into voting for people who are Democrats (or try to push the same ridiculous policies as the rest of the Democrats). I will make sure we never vote for any candidates listed on both the "conservative" line and "democrat" line, and will now be wary of any candidate listed only on the conservative line. I will ONLY vote for people listed ONLY on the Republican line.

Have a great day!
