Happy Birthday, MARINES Semper-Fi !
Did you also know the U.S. Navy is also 250 years old too? Semper fortis!!!
found this, The official birthday of the Continental Navy is October 13, 1775. https://www.operationmilitarykids.org/semper-fortis/
Not belittling USMC by any means, but should one look at the financials, it clearly declares or states Department of the Navy.
USMC: Semper fidelis (Always faithful)
USN: Semper fortis (Always courageous)
I thought the Navy was like a week or two later.
I didn't know that, thanks. Learning now.
Yep! I celebrated 4 of them between 1966 and 1970.
Semper Fi! Happy Birthday, Marines.
Yes. A marine friend told me he is taking the day off work.
It is an earned birthday. I do the same.
Why yes, I do know.

Is that the Commandant or the Command Sergeant Major? I heard that long serving Marines were the toughest.
with the Marines you need to wory about the ones longest in with the lowest rank I thought.
I believe in the Corps, like the other military services, if you get passed over for promotion a certain number of times, you get separated from the service.
