as someone that has held a medical card in multiple states and recently purchased a hemp derived THCa product i am actually on both sides of the aisle on this topic, leaning towards such regulation until cannabis reclassification and full decriminalization at the federal level
i would not be mad if it happened though i can easily make a biblical and creation centered slam dunk case for it being intended for our consumption but not to be abused
People abuse everything. It’s human nature to want more than you need. Take food for instance. Millions die from obesity! Using marijuana in moderation for pain, stress or just plain feeling good is not bad. Nor are a few drinks now and then. I think food is the worst of addictions!
conversely, read Genesis 1:29 and set it next to a detailed summary of the endocannabinoid system that exists in every mammal on the planet since the beginning of time, including humans
it is medicine and not meant for constant recreational use
Toss out the THC yet keep other products derived from weed. I shop a head shop in order to purchase sleep aids. I specifically do not want THC in my stuff because I don't want to get high. For a very very long time I was anti weed. Yet after going to the head shop and talking with the dude behind the counter he began to enlighten me as to the benefits of medicinal weed products. Then I pondered why our medical system seems to want to put good cures out of reach of the common man. Such as Ivermectin and Fenbendazole. A few bucks for these pills, which will cure you of cancer, yet you have a very hard time trying to source them. But if you catch cancer you will find no end to the amount of Chemo and other drug concoctions your doctors are willing to inject into you. Yet dog dewormer is verboten?
If those folks who are anti weed would simply do a little research on what is available along the lines of weed that might cure or help a situation, then I think that would be an avenue to travel. Don't simply slam the door on weed because of your religious beliefs. How did you come to have those beliefs? Was it while you were a child in church and the pastor did a fire and brimstone sermon condeming weed and alcohol? I am not saying toss those beliefs into the trash. Simply set them aside until you do some hard research into what weed and other psychotropics have to offer in helping people get over their ailments. For instance, if your child had autism or seizures would you be willing to use 'shrooms on him to forever get rid of the autism and seizures? I would in a heartbeat. And this after I was a firm believer that 'shrooms are the plant of the Devil.
All I'm saying is ............before you jump into the Anti weed boat, do a little bit of research and see if it would help a problem you might have. If not, then don't judge others who have found relief from those products.
Alcohol/Tobacco and Medical Cannabis industries, medical marijuana companies are sitting pretty charging high prices because the only way to become a vendor in most states is to grease the palms of the right people, privileged market access. Some recent cannabis studies came out that show that it reduces alcohol cravings in severe alcoholics, imagine what that spells for your economic forecasts as a alcohol company when something likely safer than your product is helping people kick the habit. Wouldn't shock me if pharma was involved too.
I go to a dispensery called Swin. I don't know if they are just a regional company or have stores around the country. I've purchased a two gummy pack of Enjoy hemp Relief. Each gummy has 3300 mg of CBD and CBG in it. Enjoy also makes a tablet called Sleep. These come in a thirty count containers and the gummies are fairly palatable. But it is expensive. About $2/gummy. I take it with a liquid tincture of CBD and CBN, also sourced from Swin.
Does it work? For me it does. I take a gummy about an hour before I go to bed and the tincture a half hour before bedtime. I find I sleep well, the only time I wake up is when I have to hit the head. Ugh, growing old sucks and pissing three times a night really causes broken sleep.
I'll never understand why this has such a religious like reverence reverence from one group of people, while others give it an almost religious like hatred towards it.
I'm pretty neutral on it. I don't know how it is any different from alcohol.

and your response is:
Would you want your surgeon to have a few tokes before cutting into you?
Well, would you want your surgeon to have a few shots before cutting into you? How is allowing weed equal to supporting people toking up on the job? Alcohol is legal, does not mean getting wasted on the job is acceptable or okay in any way.
Not as amazing as people's ability to ignore the argument when they're getting destroyed. Also not a pot smoker, and even if I was it had zero to do with the arguments
What's stopping them from knocking back a few shots before either of these activities. People should be responsible for what they put in their body and when, the government shouldn't be your nanny.
Quote from end of article……. “The regulated cannabis industry can now get back to normalizing cannabis without all the bad actors and criminals taking advantage of the Farm Bill loophole,” May want to see how this shakes out?
China has illegal grow operations just about in every state. No oversight and they often use slave labor. Something does need to be done to combat the CCP abusing our laws and our citizens.
Remember how many state and local governments now depend on sales tax revenue from the sale of weed and weed related products. I doubt this will be permanent.
Nothing will really change. Each state regulates the product as they see fit regardless of what the Federal government decides - which is exactly what has been taking place ever since the first state decriminalized it. So I really don't see what kind of difference this will make, unless there are enforcement mechanisms also attached. As it stands now, the Federal government can bring charges against growers at any time. I knew some growers that packed it in simply because they didn't want to become a target for the Feds. They had too much invested to run the risk of having it all confiscated.
This is more than likely a Big Pharm lobby backed maneuver.
They are changing the federal definition, it redefines "hemp" to exclude anything with "quantifiable" amounts of THC or other psychoactive substances. This means no more 2018 farm bill loophole so the ATF/DEA is free to kick in the door of local pot shops even if your state made it legal. If this passes, because it's been ruled on, the Supremacy Clause (article 6 of the Constitution) kicks in: Federal law trumps state laws, states have to pound sand, and we're now in the weed prohibition of the 20's. (And the ATF does enforce medical card users not being able to own guns.)
Lol, I guess the GOP doesn't want to just lose the midterms, they want to be completely decimated. They'll do an abortion ban next. Not because it has a chance of passing and would even be legal at this point, but to throw the elections even more.

Calm down, Satan
No, you are because you want to remove people that do not agree with you. So, Right
being angry is degeneracy.

Weird isn't it how the saying "moderation in all things" is the actual issue. Things that are basically good for you become the opposite if overdone.
your rage tells everyone you could use some fren lol
LOL….😂
You must be fun at parties
I don't use the stuff, but have you ever seen somebody with parkinson's disease use it and it completely eases their symptoms? I have.
Jesus told His flock to be sober minded and ready for His return at any moment
You are talking very immature and liberal-ish.

I have no doubts that the Pharm lobby was behind this. If they can't patent it and make money, they make sure we can't get our hands on it.

So what forms of “weed” helps as a sleep aid? I’m interested.
Indica are nice if you use them and then think about bed as you're coming down, tend to give a mellow, sleepy relaxed feeling for most people.

For fuck sake those are the jobs where they actually get tested REGULARLY and would not be able to get away with it. Zealous hyperbole!

God put it here for a reason. The plant is useful in many ways. Don't be a hater, be an elevator!

Youre exactly right. This is a step towards cannabis reschedule, im shooting for a deschedule or decriminalization situation.

THCA is a precursor to D9-THC. It’s non-psychoactive when kept cool. It helps people with inflammation, pain and anxiety.
It’s like CBD, and this makes no sense to try and ban. It’s a good medicine for people who do not wanna get high.
Not seeing the problem.
We have medical cards here in Oklahoma, but they pass them out like candy
how many farms are chinese owned there?
Are you serious?
The plant has been used in industry and medicine for 10,000 years.
Drug laws are anti-competition measures from the medical mafia. It's time we accept this.
Good idea!
u/#HighCat
more pros than cons tbh
Dream on loser
It always has been against Federal law even though a particular state legalizes it.
