Then why is Trump letting tech bros like Ellison and Thiel sign multi billion dollar contracts with the Fed govt to do exactly what this article discusses?
Seems to me that it doesn't matter, the super-surveillance state is here, it's just being slow walked into implementation to keep The People from outright revolting against it.
After all, it's better to turn the heat up slowly on a pot full of frogs than to just throw them all in once the water's at full temp.
Maybe they are building the surveillance to to surveille the state. Internet based transparency on everything.

Sadly, we're already dangerously close to a surveillance state. Cameras are everywhere, even in our homes. We voluntarily bring Alexa type "smart" devices into our home. And our cellphones are mobile tracking devices recording conversations and messages. Short of big brother living in our spare bedrooms, we're kinda already overly-surveilled, and we're paying for it on top of that! With cell phone service fees, home security fees etc. Pretty crazy when you think about it.
Has anyone else noticed police have started asking for access to YOUR personal security cameras, Ring doorbell cams etc, with the bullshit excuse they'd be used to assist in apprehending "dAnGeRoUs CrIMinAlS" ???
I've seen this mentioned several times in the past few weeks - even on local PD websites with pages dedicated to them trying to slip just the tip in... for your safety of course...
Lmao, it already has been here. It was done through social media...self reported intelligence. Huge link analysis for association, commodities, etc. The next one will be voluntary too.
