The exact same scenario happened w/ my 70-year-old neighbor Dave in the run-up to the 2020 election. Cool and collected Dave went OFF HIS NUT simply b/c I politely disagreed with him as to Trump's ability to deliver for the American people.
Oh I know. I work with a few. One was going crazy a few months ago thinking it was OK to start cursing our president and I had to say that Trump is delivering and is a great patriotic American. I knew it would get her and of course it's an old boomer female. She stopped in her tracks and turned red with rage and stormed off. I enjoyed it and no she's not spoken to me a since.
