My home state pulled through again. For those unfamiliar with Tennessee politics, the 7th Congressional District is a vertical area that runs from the Kentucky border in the north, to the Alabama border in the south... but more tellingly, the district lies between Nashville to the east and Memphis to the west.
Because of that region's long history of plantations, cotton and other crop agrarian activities, both west Tennessee and middle Tennessee was on the Confederate side of the Civil War, while east Tennessee was Union territory. The Confederacy was (and is) the Democrat forebears and those impulses are still alive today. One might think that the Enlightenment had never happened, but alas, that's where things stand.
Nashville is a blue city and a Democrat / Progressive shithole, and Memphis is much worse, for reasons I won't go into here... use your imagination.
Still, however, the 7th District is a sort of conservative exception to that whole region, as it went for Trump in the last election. What happened since the Trump election and this Special Election is a function (I believe) of so many people moving to our state from outside... Illinois, California, New York... seeking the good life of low taxes and better weather, but sadly, many of them bring their voting habits with them. I strongly suspect that the 7th District has seen an influx of outsiders that have skewed the demographics from Red to Purple.
At least that's what THIS east Tennessean thinks.
Thank God for the Republican voters that came out to vote. They predicted a closer race.
It was a difficult election and Epps did a great job getting out his message and about the machine he was up against. It is rumored that the push is to make this entire area Democrat and we are strongly pushing against it.

No rumor, fact. It's part of the democrats conniving plan. Move just enough nutbags into a red area that they can flip the district. It takes surpassingly few. And many are willing to 'take one for the team' and move to a red area, probably because it IS so much better than the crapolahole they hail from.
My daughter, son-in-law, their children, my son and I emigrated from California to our beloved Tennessee in 2018. My brother and my SIL's parents joined us later. We are ALL, every last one of us, staunchly conservative MAGA Republicans, which is why we chose Tennessee. We would not have considered a blue state. Frankly, I don't understand why anyone would move here who isn't a MAGA Republican.

I was about to ask when the hell did Tennessee even become close but this post answered why... Thank you for doing it the right way but I am sure you are not the only ones from a previous blue state.
Friend from college lives there and HATES the invasion of people from blue states. They are not welcome.
For the very reason that they are attempting to flip districts blue so they have more power. I saw a top DNC speaker talking about this probably, 8-9 years ago. Begging some leftists to 'take one for the team' and move to places like Texas where, with only 50k votes they can flip a district.

Disillusioned Americans want what we have here- that’s understandable and they are welcome- with such freedoms and prosperity surrounding them hopefully they will discover their inner conservative.

I have been shaking my head, wondering how thousands of people could have voted for a candidate that someone else on this forum called (appropriately) “bat shit crazy.” I suspected voter fraud. Davidson County, aka Nashville, is as Blue as they come. Behn apparently got about 80% of the county. Epps got an equal amount of the remainder of the district which gave him the overall majority within the district.
Just get a bobble head doll and let it do the shaking for you cause unfortunately it's never going to end....
The same people who voted for Zohran Mamdani, white young liberal woman who gave Mamdani 87% of the vote.
Edit: Her campaign emphasized restoring abortion access as a legislation priority.

You have every right to be angry at what the Democrats have done to your Nation. You have every right to use any type of Language to express your anger. In my opinion, behind all the destruction the Democrats have put your Nation through. There was a Zionist in the Shadows telling them what to do. After they robbed your Nation of all the Wealth. The goal was to turn it into a Welfare State. If you don't remind all your newly Elected Officials who they are loyal and working for. The Zionists will keep on destroying your Nation.
