This is going to be an unpopular opinion, flame suit on, there's nothing about that checkpoint that looked legit to me. Isn’t this just like DUI checkpoints everyone hates? When do the door to door "checks" begin? I'm not willing to give up any of my 1st or 4th a amendment rights in the search of security or safety. We'll wind up with none. Someone said something like that one time, "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
I agree we need to something about illegals, is this the right way though? Stopping everyone on fishing expeditions? Even near the border, rights aren't suspended.
The quote is "Those who would give up essential Liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither Liberty nor safety," which is attributed to Benjamin Franklin.
You’re 100% correct. We can get illegals out without violating the rights of actual citizens. These checkpoints are pure faggotry. They are just setting the precedent, it will be used on us eventually.
Border Patrol..stopping truck drivers, checking if they speak English, maybe check if they have a legit drivers license/or a legit semi-truck license. America has been invaded, by design! We are seeing a step by step systematic destruction of illegals, gangs members(drug/sex traffickers).. The amount of Fyntenal that was coming into America via China & manufacturing in Canada ending up America, destroying/murdering US citizens in genocidal numbers! Whats worse than that...
When the real number of children that have been kidnapped, sex trafficked, organ harvested, tortured/blood drained for Adrenochrome..
America is at War
If you aren't drinking and driving, then it's not a concern. It's only a problem for people who are.
In 2023, there were 12,429 alcohol-related driving deaths. Alcohol-impaired driving is a leading cause of traffic-related deaths in the United States. In 2023, there were 12,429 alcohol-related driving deaths, accounting for about 30% of all traffic crash fatalities in the country. This averages out to about 34 people dying each day in drunk-driving crashes, or one person every 42 minutes.
This isn't a minor problem. Simple check points have their place.
Same is true for having 20 Million illegal immigrants in the U.S.. It's not a small problem. If check points help identify people who are here illegally, then it's worth my 10 minutes of inconvenience.

That sounds a lot like the FBI going to houses to "look at their guns to verify they still have them and none are illegal", or being ok with the govt monitoring everything because "if you aren't doing anything illegal you don't have anything to worry about".
4th amendment
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

I agree!
This can turn into government overreach big time! The people need to monitor this 100 percent!
Report any government overreach!

I don't hate DUI checkpoints.
