The ‘bigot’ one actually woke me up out of a successfully landed spell. If someone is earnest and honest, it’s a seed that can make them realize they’re spouting illogical nonsense.
It won’t work all the time, because it’s not the words that does it, but the person themself, and it may not work if the hook’s embedded deeply enough, but it definitely can work.

Unfortunately, I've tried that approach -- and their answers are always "Yes, I do!" They don't even recognize it as hypocrisy. They're proud of it.
Not surprising, considering their hypocrisy is already off the charts since they began their Trump hate speeches.
