It is in Iowa anyway as even just a couple of years ago the government was trying to reduce the number of post offices here in Iowa. Some don’t have many customers. I live in a town with 125 water meters. That includes about 10 commercial customers. We don’t have police or mail delivery or illegal aliens either. Anyway they wanted to eliminate our constitutionally required post office. They ended up not doing that because even though there are only a couple hundred boxes at the post office many are for very old single people who can’t drive ten miles to another post office. Anyway this was on the news heavily for a couple of months. It was these news articles that mentioned about how an Iowa former governor owns several small town buildings leased to be used as post offices. These are not fancy buildings. They are old tiny buildings. This town used an actual trailer park trailer for a couple of decades before a tiny brick building (think one room schoolhouse size) was built and leased to USPO. I don’t have a problem with this being privatized but we all know the USPO likely would give a governor the lease before some unknown guy like us because we ain’t in the club. I don’t know lease terms but likely very favorable to the former governor.
They do not own they have been stealing our land resources money and same time killing us. Congress is a criminal organization (for me) like everything else in the government and the private enterprises have seen this corruption and guess what they are doing the same.
Howard County, Maryland government leases a building that is registered to an LLC registered in Delaware. It is hard to figure out who owns this LLC. Rumors are the LLC is owned by a former County executive. So even when you think they are out of power or that you have won an election nothing has really changed. It is us against them.
Years ago I was being treated to a dog and pony show by a Maryland politician during the last 3 days of the legislative session. O’Malley was the governor. But when we were lead through various meeting rooms formalizing the passage of bills our host politicians were pushing I noticed little paper tags on the individual seating chairs/desks (much like a college classroom desk) with written codes/numbers on them. They were all “E.I Kane” tags. Kane was the lieutenant governor to Ehrlich who was the prior governor and who lost re-election to O’Malley. So even though administrations had changed the political class was still leasing and storing and moving and providing services and assets to the new administration.
I recall holding my tongue along with individuals I was teamed with during the dog and pony show. As we drove out of Annapolis, MD we all commiserated on the fact we were all screwed. Most definitely us against them; and them means democrats and republicans as their party does not matter. They are all just members of the uniparty. All just scum of the earth.
I had a friend (he’s deceased) who was the head of the BAR association for a wealthy county. I golfed in their outing every year (I am not an attorney.). Yes- All of the defense and prosecuting attorneys and judges socialize. But I have to say- I get it. They all were educated and came up through the same system. They have to work out deals with one another constantly. But I also saw the mayhem that creates as that society of “law people” shape the rest of society by their actions.
There's a brand spanking new VA medical center here in Central Bama that was built despite a huge Government owned facility in Montgomery. Come to find out its being leased to the fed by private company contract. The wasting of our country continues......
