Wanted to ask Q, has Trump been taking the American expansion seriously since day one? I know he's aware of the "Canada as 51st state" meme or something. But it seems like America is gaining more territory with Trump in charge. Reminds me of when Russia annexed parts of Ukraine.
I remember an interview Trump did, way back when…I think Bush was president at the time. But he mentioned things like “why doesn’t America claim territory” or something to that effect, when winning a war. He said, we go over there, we blow everything up, lose American lives, win…then go back home. Gaining nothing. Trump is absolutely about gaining for America, more than just victory. Be interesting as things go on how it’ll go. I actually agree with Trump. When you win, you gain. I mean, if a foreign enemy took over America, think they’ll just give it back? No. Then why should we?

The regions that'll join Russia voted to do so and are filled with native Russians. It'd be weirder for them to stick w/Ukraine and gradually be eliminated for their culture and religion.

This is a knee-jerk reaction to what you've seen in the past. It should be clear to everyone by now that we are in uncharted territory. We were literally told we would be. Or else why are you even here?
We will be "running" things in the interim. I would bet that they have been working behind the scenes for a long time putting the pieces in place to stabilize the country with pro democratic people. Many who were run out when Maduro took over. They will have an election.( remember they were involved in the stolen election, dominion machines) Our oil companies will move in and get the oil and gas sectors up and running ( creating wealth and jobs to stabilize the economy.) Historically Venezuela was a pretty good country so MVGA is the goal. Once we help them clean out their cabal, we will let them carry on and we will move on. As neighbors and partners.
I doubt Trump will take Venezuelan territory and claim it for the US. If anything, he will take the oil. I believe he said that the US will take oil as reparations for the drug trafficking. Taking out Maduro is a clear PR win for the US in Venezuela. The Venezuelan people are ecstatic about having their country back. Claiming territory now would just make things a whole lot worse.
The US will run the country until new elections take place. This could be the staging grounds for a new election system that is more robust or to test out a paper ballots system.
Probably not run in the sense you're thinking, but more like ensuring Maduro's people don't assume power in the vacuum.
And as for payment, we'll likely incentivise the new President to enter into a large exclusive oil deal with us, for taking Maduro out, and perhaps favored nation status to sweeten the deal if they throw in some silver.
