From my perspective - as much as that thread sucked from a certain perspective, I think it was GOOD in the sense that a lot of things that were lurking in the dark got the light shined on them.
There's always been generational rivalry, if you want to call it that, where the newer generations are considered dumbasses by default. This falls under the stereotype heading, where many of those stereotypes are actually true.

What I saw after I went back and read replies that were written after my early replies, is a complete spectrum of perspectives that MAY NOT HAVE EVER BEEN VOICED if u/208-RZ didn't participate AND u/penisse never started the thread to begin with.
In my book, this falls under, "The Universe wanted this out at this time for some reason" - and I believe that. If you back away as if you didn't have a horse in this race which you DO if you have a pulse... and try to compartmentalize your situation and take the 100k view - You can see how EVERYONE'S perspective is valid - Even IF you think their perspective is total shit. I know this is hard to do - especially if you're "in the shit" right now like many of us.
The dialogue in that thread, I feel, was necessary. It was necessary from an understanding point of view. It was necessary from a healing point of view. If Gen A has a perspective or view that Gen B or C hates - It's important that Gen A states their case AND vice versa - because I don't think the majority of people here have hate in their heart hey - we're ALL assholes okay - but I think we DO love each other enough to talk about things - They don't have hate in their heart to the point that they wish schadenfreude or bad luck on you...They just don't see the world the same way YOU do - BECAUSE they haven't lived the same life you have.

THOUSANDS OF CURRENCIES they've done this...THOUSANDS.
This doesn't even get into the whole gold/silver coin clipping that was done...and WHY were they doing this sort of thing at the expense of their citizenry? Because they're ALL warring fucking whores who couldn't stop literally whoring around...and buying expensive whores etc - AND starting WARS - Endless wars they didn't have the money to pay for...so they borrowed it. Who did they borrow it from? If they were BROKE what did they use as collateral? What if they had outstanding loans with interest & then had to take out more loans for more whoring and wars AND to pay the interest on the FIRST loan? AND what if they kept on doing that???
The USA has been royally screwed since day 1 with the money. Just like England was bought and paid for by the City of London CORPORATION - so was the USA. 1871 is an interesting year to research.
