Anyone here that’s in the know? I can’t really search in Greenlandic or Danish so I’m sure the information is out there, but not sure how to access it. I found one article that says about 57% are in favor of the US taking control. And then there’s about 50 articles citing a study where supposedly 85% are against the US taking control. Typical mainstream media. I’m sure there’s some degree of puffing up the poll they want whether it’s right or not and some degree of burying the poll they don’t want seen whether it’s right or not. So just looking for anyone that has true bipartisan insight on what the feeling of the Greenland population is on this conversation.

Not a greenlander, but from what I can tell, a majority seem to favor an agreement where they sort of become like Puerto Rico, Guam, etc. Basically we would OWN them, but they're self governing. They have to be preferential towards American companies and comply with American federal regulations, but otherwise get to be self governing, and get to be part of our Nuclear Umbrella and get a few Military and Navy bases for active defense.
Which makes sense, they don't speak English (or at least a majority don't speak it fluently), so joining the US as a state would be rather difficult for them.
I've seen SOME calling for statehood, but from what I can tell, a majority are in favor of "pseudo independence". Basically, they don't get taxed by denmark anymore and have nothing to show for it because of all the gay EU regulations that they have to deal with. Sure they'd have to pay taxes to the USA instead, BUT, the key detail is we'd bring in massive amounts of infrastructure and industry because we would ACTUALLY start taking advantage of all their natural resource reserves. Plus the entire country has like 50-60K people. So a few military bases with a couple thousand Americans on them would be like a 5-10% population increase, but instead of draining on them, it would be a boon because all of those soldiers get federal US money that they'd then spend in town because what else are they gonna do? It's a known fact that US military bases make the surrounding area VERY prosperous, especially foreign bases.
Because you get this massive influx of money from people that're being paid to just live there by a foreign government essentially, and they have nowhere to spend said money except at local businesses. It's the reason German bases, Japanese bases in Okinawa, and Korean bases are some of the most prosperous areas in those countries. You essentially get hundreds of millions to some times billions of dollars pumped into the local economy (depending on base size), by just allowing them to exist AND the nation hosting them gets to be part of the US Nuclear Umbrella and our defense network.
This is why, from what I can tell, Greenland actually wants "pseudo independence" instead of statehood. They get virtually all of the benefits (besides voting in our elections, and access to our constitutional rights), with essentially little to no cost to themselves or change to their current culture.
A bunch of mining and oil jobs, probably some refining and mineral processing jobs as well, not to mention all of the logistics jobs, AND all the base satellite jobs and economic booms, PLUS US defense and protection (vs denmark's). I mean it's really a no brainer if you sit down and think about it. They get jobs, a better economy, US protection, etc. All for just switching which country they pay taxes to.
Great analysis
I’ve see posts here that were both pro and con.
What a lot of people forget is that Greenland costs Denmark a ton of money. If I remember correctly, it was about 800 million euros a year. At the same time Denmark exerts control, which a lot of Greenlanders do not like.
Greenland, despite its vast resources, is not very rich as these resources are all under a thick solid layer of ice. Getting goods to Greenland is expensive. The Greenlanders produce very little by themselves apart from fish, which is the vast majority of their exports.
If I were a Greenlander and Trump would offer me a million dollars, I would celebrate, fly the US flag and even wear a yellow wig and a red hat.
I think an offer like that could end this "conflict" peacefully and be a win-win-win for all parties involved.
I think the global cabal has some sketchy business going on.
I know this. Offer every Greenlander ten million dollars each. They will accept. There's only fifty thousand of them. We'll own it cheap.
Of course The Negotiator will open with far, far less.

While the exact dollar figure and logistics of any payment are unclear, U.S. officials, including White House aides, have discussed figures ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 per person, said two of the sources, who requested anonymity to discuss internal deliberations.
I'd like to visit Greenland...after the first Trump hotel is built.
I think taking a poll of Greenlanders will be about as relevant as polling Hawaiians (or Puerto Ricans) before they became a U.S. territory. An honest plebiscite would be nice, but I don't think it's in the cards. I think we'll buy it from Denmark, leaving Greenlanders even further alienated from Copenhagen, and the U.S. will follow up with better treatment and a lot of local representative government.
I agree with that analysis.
The first amendment, and the second, are a very big thing.
There are a lot of Foreign Nationals in Greenland. https://brilliantmaps.com/foreigners-in-greenland/
