Love the gesture and Oooooo - bonus - libs are not gonna like this!
How lovely!
There may be some comms here. If anyone wants to dig, this was done once before more than 100 years ago
Cherry blossoms are the symbol of the samurai.
They symbolize the beauty, fragility and fleeting nature of life. The cherry blossom is the most fragile and short lived flower in nature, and I would argue the most beautiful; to the touch, sight and smell. If I was ever forced to get a tattoo somehow, it would be of cherry blossoms. I have a cherry tree, as soon as it rains or gets windy, the blossoms are gone for another year.

Very lively idea. Planting them where? The Fla weather would be nice for them
I think they prefer a place with cold winter. Maybe some will be planted around the new ballroom. Then again, maybe we can get 5 trees in every state capitol. I guess we'll find out.
Beautiful idea, climate permitting of course.
All the cherry trees in Washington DC were from the trees donated by Japan in 1912 and boy they have grown so well. I am guessing Cherry trees can grow in a wide range of weathers, why not spread it across the country?
...ahh so...
They are amazing trees.
