It’s a very old place, part of the “Cradle of Civiliation.”

Gen.10:8 Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.” 10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. 11 From that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah, 12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (that is the principal city).
Nineveh
Nineveh was an ancient Assyrian city located in modern-day Mosul, Nineveh Governorate, Iraq, on the eastern bank of the Tigris River. It served as the capital of the Neo-Assyrian Empire during its peak, particularly under kings like Sennacherib and Ashurbanipal, and was one of the largest and wealthiest cities in the ancient world.
Founded around 3000 BC, Nineveh reached its height in the 7th century BC before being sacked in 612 BC by a coalition of Babylonians, Medes, and Scythians. Its ruins include major archaeological mounds such as Tell Kuyunjiq and Tell Nabī Yūnus, the latter housing a shrine traditionally associated with the prophet Jonah.
The city is prominently mentioned in the Hebrew Bible, especially in the Book of Jonah, where its people repent after Jonah's preaching. Excavations since the 19th century have uncovered vast palaces, libraries (notably Ashurbanipal’s), and reliefs now housed in museums worldwide.
No, not in modern Syria, it was in the Assyrian Empire & Nimrod's Empire. the present countries were created after WW 1 when the Ottoman Empire was divided up.
I had some reservations about what was being said in that diatribe, and then I saw the guy is Syrian. Although he is right on a lot of things, it seems he is lumping Trump in as part of the bigger evil-empire ruling the world. Did anyone else get that impression?
Someone tells me please why that country is so special.

Aslan,
Are you saying Nineveh is in Syria?

Oh. I always assume Assyrian means Syria. LOL

I got it. It's a vibe that I kind of pick up. Lots of people still feel that.
I read everybody here before I go to the any article to see if it is worth of my time. I don’t like people bashing President Trump so I don’t read it.
I understand.
