Isn't the quote "If you answer another question with more than five words I'll fucking kill you." Sounds like a manner of speech for a high-powered lawyer.
High pressure situation. Although, he was trained perfectly for the depo. For starters most depositions are intense but not filmed for the public. Wexner’s dress and demeanor were a brilliant deflection. I played it and then felt myself wanting to turn it off because it was “boring” in a way, the way he droned on was an old white haired grandpa. But then I remember his younger looking pictures and the way laughed, you could tell. He’s ugly. He has the features of a demon. But, everything wouldn’t have been so bad if the lawyer didn’t say and do this. Most Americans are too used to speed scrolling if something doesn’t catch their attention. Wexner was smart. His new lawyer let his nerves get to him.
A few minutes before this the Jew lawyer looks at his phone and may have received comms. But every lawyer knows you can’t really object to much in a depo besides the form of the question. He was making hearsay objections. Which goes to the substance.
This is a bit of a different beast though with it being a senate depo and filmed for the public. But still if he doesn’t threaten him, they don’t have a gotcha moment. The lawyer looked agitated and uncomfortable.
Why would he threaten to kill him in public?
The lawyer publicly threatened to kill him.
HOT MIC: Les Wexner’s attorney during his House Oversight Committee deposition:

Uh, these people are stupid?
He goes down with the Wexner ship, I suppose.
Sounds just like a mob boss talking.

sounds like a death threat from a Jew
do you talk to people like that?
I would guess most people have probably said "I'll kill you" at some point in their life without meaning it.
to a multi billionaire on the Senate floor next to a microphone?
DOUBT
try it at a local courthouse one day "answer another question over 5 sentences and I'll kill you" I dare you

go try it at your local courthouse and report back the results
i think your take is correct
If my attorney say that to me, I'll be suing him until his pants off.
I don't think you understand how men talk to each other let alone those kind of men.
Maybe not. I would not say that to my client.
I don't think it was a serious threat:
client blabs on then lawyer says "If you don't answer the next question with 5 words or less i'm going to kill you" then both laugh
Can't imagine a lawyer saying that to a paying client. LOL

Thanks.
I guess it's because I live in the Northeast, but what he said was in no way a threat. I hear shit like that ten times a day.
NE? NW you get sued.
