The assumption here is when the body dies, the flesh dies but the spirit rises to heaven or to hell.
The only way that there's any type of worm, that would be in the host, ie the flesh so upon death the worm would actually crawl out of the host but the worm is not spiritual, I hope not!

I said they were parasites which they have to be because anti-parasite herbs supplements medications kill them.
