The Crown Prince Pahlavi has been working on a transitional government for the last two years - seriously. They already have an interim parliament and detailed transition plans to get the country functioning. Iran has some severe problems because the regime robbed the country blind and didn't take care of basic infrastructure - like water and energy. Those problems will have to be addressed immediately. Large parts of the country will be out of water in a matter of weeks or months.
The people of Iran will be given a chance to vote for the form of government they want. So far there seems to be a consensus based upon the principle of a secular democratic framework that guarantees separation of state and religion and equality for all citizens. Whether there is to be a constitutional monarchy is up to the people. The prince is only offering his services to head up this transitional government till the people can vote by referendum for what they want. He just wants to restore the country. The man seems very humble, intelligent, and articulate. The plan is very well thought out and detailed. Trump was impressed even though he cannot publicly come out and say so at the moment or publicly back the prince. Judging by the statements both of them have made recently, they are on the same page.
They are literally running out of water due to corruption and decades of mismanagement. The whole of the middle east is dealing with severe water crisis and it is getting bad. What terrifies me is that if something is not done soon, there could be waves of demographic relocation the likes which we have never seen before.
First thing they better do is get themselves a constitution like America has
With a Bill of Rights for good measure...

Glad someone mentioned Iran's infrastructure. Tehran's drinking supply was horribly polluted by sewage because of the Ayatollahs.
