Then they went to work to get the data to give them something that could make money. By eliminating anyone that had had a stroke MORE than 182 days after flu vaccination they were able to show a slightly reduced incidence of stroke for people who had been vaccinated vs. never vaccinated PLUS not recently vaccinated.
This technique of redefining "unvaccinated" to include anyone not recently vaccinated is clever. It shifts unpleasant data from one side of the graph to the other and generates a better result for the client.
