Easy does it on this false flag shit. Low budget plant operations and maintenance, low quality personnel that’s getting worse every turnover(thank God for collective bargaining LOL), acceptable risk ratios…. All of these things and more lead to CSB boom toon material.
I’m not saying to rule it out. I just don’t find it likely. I worked in those places for a long time and security is very tight. A terrorist would have to have work very hard to sabotage a unit so hard that it blows straight to hell. It’s much more likely this is human error or the result of negligence.
This is exactly why I had been trying for the past few years to get back into nuclear (and I did). I worked in several refineries, and always had that result in the back of my mind. Probably had something to do with walking past a memorial set up for the employees killed years ago in an accident. I never felt that way working nuclear.
Indeed. That memorial is a quarter mile away from that hundred year old unit that was only supposed to be a thing for 50 years that’s running on hopes, prayers, and borrowed time. I got into utilities in a tech company. No regrets leaving O&G.
🚨#BREAKING: A shelter-in-place has been issued after a major explosion occurred at a refinery plant
📌#PortArthur | #Texas
At this time, numerous emergency crews are on the scene following a major explosion at a Valero refinery. Large flames are visible, with heavy smoke rising and seen for miles. Multiple witnesses reported feeling the ground shake at the time of the blast. A shelter-in-place order has been issued for nearby residents as a precaution while crews work to contain the situation. The cause of the explosion remains unknown and is currently under investigation.
We are, and have been, under attack for years. Food processing plants burning and exploding. So many plane crashes, derailments. Entire neighborhoods mysteriously burning, and now come refinery fires. It's long past time to bring our troops home and protect our ports, refineries, and other infrastructure. The cops are too damn busy dealing with Generation EBT, so what recourse do we have? This will only get worse.
Valero to modernize crude distillation unit at its Port Arthur refinery in February 2026. A person familiar with operations on site at the Port Arthur refinery has noted that Valero hopes to keep the AVU 146 unit running while upgrades are being carried out.
According to the local sheriff it was a heater, most likely a can heater, in a hydro-treater. Those types of heaters are pretty notorious for being hunks of shit with minds of their own at times. Given that fact, and the fact that those types of heaters are largely manually operated, I can now take a very educated guess that this was the result of human error or an OLD heater tube that busted and blew said heater to hell.
Thankfully, all personnel have been accounted for. No fatalities.
These MFers will do ANYTHING to keep jacking up domestic prices...

PORT ARTHUR TEXAS WAS A TRENDING SEARCH IN ISRAEL IN MARCH 17. https://x.com/Jvnior/status/2036306009661096140
I see that being more plausible than an IRGC thing.

This might have something to do with it.
