I think I posted about this before, but we had A-10s at RAF Alconbury when I was stationed there in the early '90s. For a while I had to walk to work around the back 25% of the runway while they were redoing my computer room and upgrading my mainframe. They constructed a Transportable Shelter System (TSS) - about 4 or 5 reinforced steel trailers put together to house a smaller version of the mainframe I ran - and I was out there for 3-5 months. That's probably part of the reason I have bad hearing and tinnitus.
One afternoon I was walking back to the dorms on a nice day, and the next thing I knew an A-10 quietly came up behind me really low. Just after he passed over me he went into a big climb, and looped upside down and back over me. I didn't know they could even do that, and also didn't know they could do loops. Those things can be really quiet.
I found out later that it was practicing for our upcoming airshow.
Unless Air Support will no longer be needed in the future, I'm hoping they extend the A-10 until an even better version (in reality, not in pre-production marketing) comes along, which will probably be a while.
They misspelled 2050.
It’ll be a competition between the B-52 and A-10 on who gets retired last.
KC- 135 enters the race.

Saw one flying low and slow a couple of years ago, I think it was on it's way to an air show. So cool to see that thing in the air.

That is so cool! They are just awesome jets
As long as we have an Army, there will be an A-10. The only thing that could replace it would be a dedicated attack drone.
I love the A10

4 A-10 videos worth watching. New weapons for it to use, etc.
