It's BS. They are cooking the numbers because of technological progress. I've seen TVs -90% before, but -98% takes the cake. -90% means they used to cost 10x as much. Ok since flat panel HDTVs used to cost $3,000 back then. -98% means they used to cost 50x, so $15,000? No, back in 2000 most people bought SDTV CRT units for $400.
I'm sure there is something similar going on with cellphone services and computer software.
I don't really trust BLS data, and this chart showing "Average Hourly Wages" going up 131.1% and well ABOVE the "Overall inflation" rate of 92.6% really doesn't fit with what I think has been going on.
Looks completely made up when you start comparing real numbers...
The reason TV's are so cheap is because they're subsidized by the bloat ware installed on them.
I don't even... TV's are now just monitors to me. Buy a fanless mini PC and wireless mini keyboard/trackpad combo and just watch via browser.
"Regular TV" was so lame with mostly reruns or overt indoctrination that I just cut it off and went straight net.
If you do it right, you'll never have to watch another commercial (incl Amazon prime video free version) ever again... IYKYK completely "legal" BTW... unless you're outside the US - which you better pay your BBC tax
TVs are so cheap yet they keep stealing them lol
