Thanks. I don't see it being made an issue right now given that people would loose their votes and representation. The only fix to that would be to push for DC statehood, making it a bit of a loaded trap.
The mind can vomit.... I mean, I get it but dc needs less, not more in my opinion. That said it would drastically yoink a huge number of Democrats into a region where they won't affect Virginia elections.
I think this would be a good thing. The deep-staters would get to live in their own stew. Democrats, supposedly sworn to abide by the rule of the majority, should have no principled objection to being ruled by the majority of the rest of the country. Or, if it means that much to them, they can relocate to Virginia or Maryland, as others have.
The idea of statehood is pernicious, and was rejected as the original motive for forming the District in the first place. It had long been known that the inhabitants of a nation's capital would have undue influence on the decisions made for the fate of the nation (e.g., Rome or Paris or London).

I think they should make it into a rhombus, or a septagon. Something with a little more pizzazz.

That would be a huge impact.

Isn't DC not part of America? It's part of the Corporation right? Why give up more land to Britain?
