Most local school boards do exactly what the state teachers union tells them to do, any freethinkers on a local board are quickly overruled by the lemmings doing what the union tells them to do.
Department of education should never have been instituted. That stated, since it does exist, instead of getting rid of it, Trump should go full bore on changing it so he can exert financial pressure on local school.districts to change or they'll get funding cut (funding that they heavily rely on for their current bullshit)
It's no coincidence that the DOE was started by Jimmy Carter, who basically did everything that Zbigniew Bresinski told him to, and that Bresinski's daughter went on to tell the world on MSNBC that it's their job to tell people what to think.
