Well, you can indulge in magical thinking, but that doesn't make it real. Microwave weapons are on the table, but they can be defeated by a conductive shell, so they are best against softer targets. Drones with plastic fuselages are probably vulnerable. But it might be more difficult to concentrate energy on target. Most radar systems do not require killing energy. More fluence means a heavier weapon, heavy cooling, and a heavy powerplant.

Solar-powered furnaces exist, but they are very massive, fixed installations. Very complicated to try to make it fly. You can come up with all kinds of ideas (and they have been considered) but if they are too heavy or non-aerodynamic, they don't make the grade. (Particle beams became out of the question rather rapidly, once the beam propagation problems were considered.)

And you simply don't go through all the trouble to make a DEW for the purpose of starting ground fires, when incendiaries work just fine. Remember, for anything in the visible or infrared spectrum, clouds or smoke defeat them. They are clear-weather weapons. I examined this as a mission for YAL-1A, and it was a waste of a billion-dollar system.

I've worked on airborne DEW system design for half a century, so this is not just internet opinion, it is a professional view. No secret weapon can elude the consequences of the laws of physics.

They don't exist. The physics is imaginary. The links off the Bearden link no longer work. I've always heard about "scalar" this or that, but have never seen an exposition of the physics in mathematical form. Stick with the DEWs that are real and are now in service. (Which would have been impossible in Tesla's understanding of physics.)
