Nothing. You would have to be above, looking down. The Navy installations are at deck level, looking out or up. Camouflage or smokescreen would be effective. With a laser, you can't target what you can't see (think about it). On the whole, you get better results from incendiary bombs.
What's to say we dont have technology for high altitude drones or similar craft? Secondarily, it doesn't have to be laser energy, the CIA has been known to have microwave guns that cause acute cardiovascular problems and death depending the frequency, intensity and exposure for decades.
Think about it like this, most kids know about using a magnifying glass to burn ants from above, you dont think the military ever thought, hey this would be a good idea for a weapon?
I wasnt referring to these particular weapons as much as the overall concept and other applications for it.
Well, you can indulge in magical thinking, but that doesn't make it real. Microwave weapons are on the table, but they can be defeated by a conductive shell, so they are best against softer targets. Drones with plastic fuselages are probably vulnerable. But it might be more difficult to concentrate energy on target. Most radar systems do not require killing energy. More fluence means a heavier weapon, heavy cooling, and a heavy powerplant.
Solar-powered furnaces exist, but they are very massive, fixed installations. Very complicated to try to make it fly. You can come up with all kinds of ideas (and they have been considered) but if they are too heavy or non-aerodynamic, they don't make the grade. (Particle beams became out of the question rather rapidly, once the beam propagation problems were considered.)
And you simply don't go through all the trouble to make a DEW for the purpose of starting ground fires, when incendiaries work just fine. Remember, for anything in the visible or infrared spectrum, clouds or smoke defeat them. They are clear-weather weapons. I examined this as a mission for YAL-1A, and it was a waste of a billion-dollar system.
I've worked on airborne DEW system design for half a century, so this is not just internet opinion, it is a professional view. No secret weapon can elude the consequences of the laws of physics.
You must be joking. High-energy lasers have been the original "directed energy weapon" since the 1970s when they were first being developed as such. (Good resume of chemical lasers at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemical_laser.)
They don't exist. The physics is imaginary. The links off the Bearden link no longer work. I've always heard about "scalar" this or that, but have never seen an exposition of the physics in mathematical form. Stick with the DEWs that are real and are now in service. (Which would have been impossible in Tesla's understanding of physics.)
I read your link to the Bearden information. It didn't take me more than a page to find his only equation, where he contends that E=tmc2 is energy as much as E=mc2. So, this proves he never took a physics class, because the primary requirement of all physical equations is that the dimensional units are the same thing on both sides of the equation. This is not even science, and is why Bearden is rejected out of hand and there is no technology to show for it.
As for nucleogenesis, the astrophysicists had that worked out long ago.
As for DEWs, I have worked directly in the field. My last Big Hurrah was the YAL-1A Airborne Laser.
If you are interested in edge physics, I suggest you read the Journal of Galilean Electrodynamics. Real science. Real speculation. Not easy reading. https://www.galilean-electrodynamics.com/
I wonder that sort of weaponry could do to residential structures...

Thanks for sharing that information, it's always great to hear from people who have actual experience, especially on a topic like this.
Thanks for the thanks! I try to be helpful.
Excellent recap of the recent events. The laser toys are working well. Not sure if they are equipped with the other DEW toy.
Lasers are not DE weapons, the word lasers here is euphemistic and a distraction.

I'm not. DE weapons are based on Exotic Vacuum Objects AKA Plasmoids AKA Scalar Electromagnetics
Here is a resume of them: https://www.prahlad.org/pub/bearden/scalar_wars.htm

It doesn't matter what anyone says about this science, you will never accept it and will only argue with no proof or sources at all.

The MEG. May the Lord reward you according to your works.
AHHHHHHH...DEWS--->DIRECT ENERGY WEAPON SYSTEM!!!!!!!
OHHHH MY...betcha' that system scorched some electronics and boards...
😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's like punching a hole through them with a really big acetylene torch.
