Massie opposed Trump’s emergency declaration to fund the wall in 2019, voting with Democrats to block it.
In 2019, Congress appropriated $1.375 billion for border wall construction as part of the $2.5 billion allocated to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for border security.
This funding was specifically for "operationally effective designs" already in use and applied to about 55 miles of new fencing instead of 280 miles of brand new fencing that Trump wanted. Although President Trump had requested $5.7 billion for the wall, leading to a 35-day government shutdown, Congress settled on the lower amount. Thomas Massie supported the democrats and helped stop the building of the wall.
Trump needed over 5 billion and only got 1. 55 miles of repairing old wall instead of 280 miles of new wall. This 'massively' helped the invasion that was to follow.
If I had to hazard a guess this is a pretty simple calculation on the President’s part. Gallrein, whatever his faults might be, will predictably vote for President Trump’s agenda. Massie, whatever his faults might be, will predictably vote no on legislation that moves the President’s agenda forward.
But also notes Gallrein states he voted for Trump in 2016, 2020 and 2024 and that he could never vote for a Democrat.
Fifth generation farmer, so has the means to continue foisting himself upon the electorate there. Compared to Massie, the Devil you do know, he can’t possibly be any worse, and would owe much to the Trump administration for supporting his run for the seat.

We need a different choice. We always get 2 shitty choicest.
I never heard of him and I don’t miss him.
