Go look at the size and number of insane asylums in the 1800s and into the 1900s, finally tapering off in the 1960s when they started manufacturing insanity again in earnest via the Hippie, drug, Laurel Canyon manufactured culture via music, birth control pill etc.
It seems they wait until previous generations that know about the asylums and why people were put there are dead and buried before rolling out the control mechanisms again... after they create the conditions to make people nuts first, of course...Well that's just crazy! Positively helgelian...

I was offered a job in the last couple years and I turned it down once I realized it would be traveling around the world, including Canada.
the guy (or whatever its pronoun is) who took that position was a Black Man who was very much in the category of being a drag queen. I will call him, him. Well, he, was also a singer and very much what would call a progressive leftist who would vote for Democratic Party no matter what..
was talking to him and he said he went to Canada and they interrogated him and said he was a terrorist.
it was kind of a two-fold thing I thought, one, he would be in that category factually. He votes Democratic Party and that is the only people we see that way and two, he thought he was untouchable before that because in his mind he is what the world wants him to be.
I told him I did not take that job because I saw that coming and I would make a joke and end up in a concentration camp in some other country and never heard from again. I was like at least you eventually made it home to have a story.
I call him a conservative now.
