Well, Trump actually said it but he was being tongue in cheek. He said something like...I like inflation, wait til the oil prices come down, (as in won't that be great compared to today's inflation). As usual, fake news takes it out of context. Or he was trolling. lol
"I love the inflation numbers because of what I’m talking about,” Trump told The Post. “The numbers are going to be phenomenal because what’s showing is that despite the fact that we’re in a war, the numbers are much lower than anticipated, and when we’re out of that war, the numbers will be at lower numbers than they were even before it started.”
But there is even more depth to this and the original "I love inflation" was not a slip of the tongue.
In a demand since economies (where consumption is driven by debt) easy debt = higher demand = higher prices = inflation = banks become richer.
In a supply side economics (where production is driven by economic growth) inflation = increased confidence by everyone who is earning more and more because of the growth = the whole country becomes richer.
I am inclined to agree with this because even the Iranians who claim to control the Strait are claiming that oil is still flowing.
Reports are that the Iranians are allowing only what they want to flow through their Strait of Hormuz but with a hefty price tag. However, President Trump has said an operation has been underway for that oil to be heading to the USA already.
It has been said the USA strategic reserve is being depleted however I believe because of this operation the USA will replenish the reserve with this along with the earlier action this year with Venezeula. What appears as a weakness for the USA is actually a strength because the USA is also producing a lot of oil now too.

The reason gas it so high right now is because the Democrats are working with big oil companies to steal from the American people by charging extra and then blaming it all on president Trump, so if you're upset about the high oil prices, now you know who to blame.
This sounds like a bogus claim unless you have some sauce, please share if you do.
Thanks. I saw that claim and figured it was a mis-quote or outright fakery.

Pulling this as this is not factually accurate. Yes, Trump did say "I love inflation" but he clarified what he meant https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2026/06/11/donald-trump-explains-i-love-the-inflation/90503853007/

President Trump also said he likes higher interest rates so one can get money back on their bank savings accounts.
Right, this is putting money back into the pockets of Americans.
That's a good thing.
