I got a letter in the mail from my bank yesterday saying they are going to begin charging me five bucks a month for the privilege of having a checking account with them, unless I keep a $5K balance in the account, then it will be free. I've been with this bank for 30 years and this small fee really gripes me. I figure the bank might be losing quite a few customers in the coming days. Oh, guess who ownes this bank?.......Walmart.
