So, from what I am seeing here, other than opening the Strait to commercial traffic, what is the US getting from this agreement other than more games with the Islamic regime which they will more than likely do after they have some economic relief. My comments are based on the statement linked in the OP. The administration came out today and said that Iran gets no money. So, where did Iran International get the terms of this so called agreement? Everyone's version is different. If we don't know, the regime doesn't know either. You are correct in that Trump is a master at optics. This has been a good one - one of his best. So, we will know more once this thing plays out.
All I can say is that the confusion is having a huge effect on the ground in Iran among regime supporters. If their social media posts within their own chat rooms are any indication, they are imploding and turning on the government and others in the regime. They are calling for impeachment and prison for Araghchi and Ghalibaf. The regime supporters are saying now that their leader, the cardboard gayatollah, is being held hostage by Araghchi and Ghalibaf because their leader would never agree to sign an agreement with the US. No one even knows if the guy is even alive. If this is what Trump was aiming at, to cause more fracturing within the regime, that is exactly what is happening.
