I disagree with this Statement. Destroying the economy was very much a capitalist greed event. Ross Perot figured it out. That sucking sound of good paying jobs leaving the Nation..

The key word here is greed. It doesn't matter what system is running the government when greedy sociopaths get control the people suffer.

Without constant vigilance and a people willing to sacrifice their safety and lives to make sure the criminal greedy don't take control, it all goes to shit under every system in time.

Smart. This is the type of talk that comes from someone that keeps their eye on the ball.

And how can we tell if someone has been greedy? They have orders of magnitude more than ANYONE else.

the only reason they "have" more is because the monetary measuring stick got disconnected from its anchor. so now we can now create infinity stock market dollars.

Gold at 35$ acted as an anchor. Was it impervious to fault, no.

but with gold anchored in, then our money wouldnt be created via debt, lending, and IOU's, thus we wouldn't have an overinflated market. Because you can only deal in physical. but now since we deal in digital, the numbers are faker than they've ever been.

What's an hour of work worth when every measuring stick is traded on the market, there's no solid ground it's just a big ocean of monetary forces colliding with zero physical backing.

This. And then, when they print the money, it goes to companies like Blackrock and Vanguard who then buy up all the single family homes causing housing to skyrocket and an entire generation of renters with little hope of ownership.

noooo we were blaming that on illegals, remember?

That also contributes to the issue. We're getting screwed from so many different directions. We can't fix (or even blame) just one or 2 things and think things will get better.

It's crony capitalism.

Have you ever once worked for a poor person or a Communist? Capitalism is what brings capital together to create jobs. A poor person cannot build a factory.

I once did genealogy work for someone. In one of the late 1800s census reports, his ancestor's occupation was listed as "capitalist." That meant he put his money to work creating jobs for others.

Jobs left the nation because of politicians' votes more than anything else. Jobs are now coming back to the US. And it's still capitalism.

This is the type of meme from someone who hasn’t even talked to a Gen Z person and is out of touch. Multi national corporations are 100% destroying western identity with mass immigration.

Gen Z does work hard but how do they compete with Pajeet H1-B’s that all the multi national corporations bring in who will work for nothing. Most basic manufacturing jobs and entry level positions are filled with cheap low IQ Africans. And why should any of them vote GOP with people like Abbot “Texas will be a home for Indians”, Vivek Ratherswampy and JD Vance who won’t touch H1-B’s cause of his wife and tech bro backing.

Gen Z is more far right than you are or ever will be. They want millions upon millions deported and care about the identity of our country and that the economy should work for heritage Americans.

It wasn’t Gen Z who caved to the “nation of immigrants” psyop or LGBTQ mob.

My father supported a wife and six kids with a blue collar job. Wages used to be fair. They are not any more. Elon Musk is not working a million times harder than the rest of us.

– Aspie 2 points 4 days ago +2 / -0

He is creating thousands of jobs. That's what capitalism does. It gathers capital together to make it possible to build factories.

Your father was an exception. My father worked also, but I don't think he ever got a fair wage. I never even saw a steak until I left home for college. There were many meals where the only thing we could afford was beans and biscuits. At any one time during my school years, I only owned three changes of clothes. That's what was bought for me before school each year, and the long sleeve shirts were modified to short sleeve for the summer. If the pants were too short by summer, they were cut off too. My parents could put one dime toward my college education. I went the only way I could, by winning scholarships and grants and by borrowing a little bit.

My social security is less than what a minimum wage job would pay today. BTW, if anyone works more than a couple of years and only make minimum wage, there is something wrong with them. They are either incompetent or have no ambition. During my entire working career, every time I changed jobs, I got more money and a better job.

Elon Musk has created about 150,000 jobs directly and many more thousands indirectly. So yes, he actually has, in a sense, worked harder than I ever did.

Communism doesn't create jobs. It just takes everything from everyone and gives it to the leaders. If it weren't for capitalism, you couldn't save up a little money and open your own business. Or borrow enough to open one.

I didn't have a huge pile of ambition, but I knew what I had to do to survive and get ahead. I have never written a resume for myself. I have never once gotten a job with a job application. When I wanted a job, I found a place that needed someone, went there in person, told them I could do the job and was available immediately, and they hired me. I never once got refused. At my last job before retiring at 50 after 18 years, I was put on the clock less than an hour after I walked in the door. I know not everyone can do this, but it's a worthy goal.

I have been retired over 20 years, live in a fairly large house on an acre, and am comfortable. I do have a side hustle, but I only work when I feel like it. It's all on the computer, so it's not really that much work either. Because it's also my hobby, I put "hobby income" on the IRS form. That helps reduce my total tax bill. I think they don't charge SS tax on that income.

"Dear Boomer, 'capitalism' enriched you at the expense of future generations. Your lazy, entitled, participation-trophy generation failed capitalism. Stop blaming young people for your failures and promoting the illusion that you 'worked hard fair and square to earn what you have'"

Discuss?

Not every Gen Z or Millennial was raised to be lazy or to expect a participation trophy. Not every one was under-educated (or UN-educated).

It doesn't help to lump an entire generation into one false category.

If someone said "All white people are ...... " you know that what follows is not helpful.

If someone says "All Jewish people are ..... " then what follows isn't helpful.

If someone says "All Asians are... " then what follows isn't helpful.

So for Gen Z or Millennials, let's not do that.

Why the fuck were boomers handing out participation trophies anyway? People act like the problem came from the children of these people. But they didn't order the trophies or misunderstand who gets them or why all on their own. They were taught by adults. It was the adults that seemed to need these participation trophies.

I know it’s so funny. Boomers are so mad at millennials and Gen Z when Boomers largely raised them and it was boomers who allowed the country to be taken over by millions of illegals and legal immigrants from cultures incompatible with ours.

OP has clearly never talked to a Gen Z man. Gen Z men are extremely far right.

My sons were born in 90 and 99. Idk which generation that makes them, but they both work hard and earn decent money - both make $100k a year or more. My oldest is definitely more of a go getter, he starts businesses. My youngest follows his older brother lol.

Both are also 2A supporters, and own multiple guns. My youngest dream is to be a gunsmith. Just lacks the funds to open own business. I also do not know how lucrative that business may or may not be.

They are also MAGA.

The entire premise is bass ackwards. Our country doesn't exist to serve an economic system, our economic system serves the people of that nation. It just so happens that capitalism and free markets best serve our people through property rights and voluntary cooperation. If you don't protect the people and serve the system, it cannibalizes what makes it successful.

If you preserve our people you'll inevitably preserve our economic system.

Yup. A system with bailouts or regulation or planning of any kind is not capitalism, it's communism.

Not that big banking is much better "I'll keep everyone's money to 'keep it safe', and use it to make money", and don't make me laugh about bank notes "promising to pay".

Nope- scrap the lot and bring back real capitalism.
